I'd like to think that I have a lot of friends. But which friends do I love enough to donate an organ? Precious few, indeed. The following is a list of friends who could have my organ inside of them in the future, and I don't mean that in a perverted way!!! The list isn't exclusive. If your name doesn't appear in either of the lists, this does not mean that you are not a close friend. Nor does it exclude you for asking for a kidney should you need one in the future. It simply means that at the time of this writing it would be a tough decision. Please note that this list does not include any close relatives by either blood or marriage, so all of you cousins can just back off.

Before we break into the lists though, here are some kidney facts from The American Kidney Fund :

Facts about Kidney Disease

More than ten million Americans have kidney problems. Some of these problems include: infections, kidney stones, kidney cancer and Polycystic Kidney Disease. Many people also have chronic kidney disease (CKD). When you have CKD, your kidneys do not work as well as they should. CKD can lead to kidney failure. Kidney failure can only be treated with dialysis or a kidney transplant. Here are some facts about kidney disease:

1. About 1 in 12 people in America has a kidney or urinary tract disease.
2. Over 7.4 million adults over age 20 have chronic kidney disease. That’s 4.5%!
3. Diabetes is the number one cause of kidney failure. High blood pressure is number two.
4. Over 75,000 people die from kidney failure each year. Kidney disease is America’s ninth leading cause of death.
5. There are 400,000 people being kept alive through dialysis or kidney transplants.
6. Over 61,000 patients are on the waiting list for a kidney transplant. Sadly, only 16,000 will get a new kidney this year.

Okay, enough of the facts, now lets move on to the focus of the page

Those who would get a kidney without a second thought:

  • Sioux Heiser - No questions asked. Sioux rates!

  • Michelle Soles - Never really met her, but she's worth a kidney! How weird is that??!!

  • Vic Connor - The dude who led me to the world of art

  • David Holloway - One of my best friends from the Corps. He'd get a kidney in a heartbeat.

  • Glen Guthrie - Ditto. Hell, Glen has probably paid for it with all of the beer that he bought me in the Marines.

  • Eric Greenwood - Distant cousin? Evil twin? Good friend? It doesn't matter, he'd get one.

  • Liz Greenwood - A kidney for my buddy Liz? Yessiree!

  • Rick Hickox - My friend since High School. One kidney comin'' up.

Those who would probably get a kidney after much deliberation:

  • Ernie Miller - One of the ol' art crew. I suppose he rates. Oh, wait-a-minute, did I say Ernie??

  • Ben Dybas - Master designer and old college pal.

  • Al Grivetti - The man who showed me graphic design as an art-form.

  • Lisa Tebbe - Crazy as it may sound, Lisa would get my organ.

  • Chuck Lewis - Probably my oldest friend in the world.

  • Patty Struthers - My old boss from CCD. How bizarre is it that an ex-boss would rate???!! That should tell you what kind of boss she was.

  • Andra Carson - Another close friend from CCD.

  • Kim Lewis - Another of the OCC art crew. I never see her anymore, but she'll be a friend forever.

So there you go! My list of organ transplantees is complete. If your name doesn't appear, that doesn't mean that I don't value your friendship, it just means that maybe you need to be a little bit nicer to me, buy me gifts, or kiss my ass a little more than you do, thats all....
