| Field Artillerymen, Cannon Cockers, Gun Bunnies, Wire Runners, Fresh Doughnuts and Coffee, F.O.'s, Motor-T, and Gun Docs. There were a lot of people who went into making Hotel 3/12 what it used to be. Yes, there were many MOS's an even more personalities that made the unit what it was. But we all had one thing in common, we were all the bastard children of 3rd Battalion, 10th Marines.
There are hundreds of memories from those short years, adventures which live on in tales to our friends and family. Tales of sights and experiences that most Americans will never fathom. Memories of being in the field, of cooking your MRE's over a fire of sand and diesel, of drinking and fighting, and then drinking some more.
If you are like me, you have been fed up trying to locate old friends through the years. It seems like I've done hundreds of internet searches for people and still come up empty handed. Hopefully this page will make it easier for us to get connected. Since our names and units will finally be listed in the search engines, it can become a place where we can check up on old friends and teammates.
I know that I haven't listed everyone that we served with, but this is a time intensive project and I'm doing this on my spare time. So please be patient for updates. If you are not listed on this page but want to be, contact me here and I will get something posted. If you are on this page and want to be removed, just let me know and I will take you off as soon as possible.
The information on this page is what I believe to be correct. If you have more information that should be here, please feel free to send it in. If there is someone else who you think should be included, please email me a pic and their info so I can post it .
Along with each pesron, I am including a small bit of info about what I remember of the people. If you appear on this page and want to write what you're doing now or what you have been doing for the past decade, feel free to do so and email it to me. I can also post your email address on the site too.
Hopefully this site can reunite some old friends, so if you know someone who'd be interested in this page, please forward the url to them.
Thanks Guys!
Derek

Last known rank: Cpl
Current Location: Illinois
Looking for: Everyone, but I'd like to find out whatever happened to Dave Holloway, Mike Peterson, and Bill Rietz.
Email: contact@madhauscreative.com
Websites: Madhaus Creative Services (Business site), The Blackboard (Day-to-day craziness site)
Some of you may remeber that I was a brown bagger, and I am proud to say that I am still happilly married after 16 years. We are living in the small town where I grew up and now have a 14 year old daughter. After leaving the Marine Corps, I enrolled in college as an art major. I worked a couple of part time jobs that fit into my school schedule and commuted a little over an hour each way.
Eventually I began working at an ad agency while still going to school and have since worked for two publishing companies. Currently I am the lead graphic designer at Mid America Motorworks (the leading Corvette entertainment company) and also teach Illustration at our local college.
If you want to see what kind of design that I do, you can see it at the following link: www.madhauscreative.com

After leaving the Hotel in 7/92 I moved back to Meadville, PA and married my wife of 13 years, Amy. I spent 10 years working for Trio Tool and Die first as an apprentice in precision manufacturing and eventually as an interim tool room supervisor before deciding that it was time for a change. Currently I work with various clients and law enforcement agencies in the central U.S. filling an enforcement capacity. (can't be more specific due to non-disclosure agreements...sorry).

Current rank: Colonel
Location: Camp Pendeton, California
Website: Official Website for Marine Corps base Camp Pendleton
I found our former CO completely by accident. The currnt photo shown on the right was a snapshot from the DVD movie "The Marine." I wasn't much for the movie itself, but was thrilled to learn that our former CO is now a Colonel and is actually the Commanding Officer of Camp Pendleton. If you're curious you can read his complete bio by following this link.
